The 19 year-old duo have been making a name for themselves with their energetic live shows since forming about six months ago they have recently toured in support of The Phantom Band and The Twilight Sad. Released last week on Melodic, ‘This World’ is one half of Man of Moon’s debut double-A-side single. Their mathy, reverb-soaked, ‘This World’ is today’s MPFree. We’re starting another week of free music the right way, with the swelling post-punk debut of young Edinburgh duo, Man of Moon. The remixer in question is electronic whiz kid ENJOYED aka Peter Evans-Pritchard, who’s also furnished the likes of TV On The Radio, Hot Chip, and Tunng with his bleeps and squiggles. The original version of Close The Dam was released as a white label 12”, it’s his first solo material in over a decade and distributed under the moniker SWR. And now he’s back with brand new material. Shaun has been compared to WB Yeats, written for the Daily Sport, survived in the Jungle, appeared as a character in Grand Theft Auto, has been banned from Channel 4, and created not just one, but two, Madchester-defining bands – it’s easy to see why there’s a screenplay in development about his life.
